Frequently Asked Questions from Members

  1. Do I have to pay to be a Member?
    1. No! Crewdrop Memberships are completely free to all eligible workers.
  2. What makes me eligible to be a Member?
    1. Currently, Crewdrop can only accept members who:
      • Are Canadian Citizens or are in Canada with a valid Work Visa
      • Have available References  who do not indicate poor attendance, unreliability, misrepresentation, or other signs of detrimental performance
  3. I’m 16 years old, but have volunteered for a few events, can I be a Crewdrop Member?
    1. YES! If you can receive permission from a legal Guardian, Crewdrop does not have any age restriction for workers. Some Event’s themselves have age restrictions, and unfortunately Crewdrop can not operate outside of those rules.
    2. Crewdrop encourages family involvement and buddy systems for young workers.
    3. In cases where Guardian supervision is required, but is not available to attend: Underage Members, who have previous work experience with Crewdrop, may have their Guardian appoint an eligible Supervisor as a temporary Guardian. All fees relating to documents and notary certifications, when required, will be the responsibility of the Member.
    4. Crewdrop will do its best to accommodate work situations for our younger Members, however we cannot guarantee placement when extenuating circumstances arise.
  1. What Events can I go to?
    1. A complete list of approved events, aka “Crewdrop Collaborators”, is made available to Members once approved, or as soon as they become available.
    2. Crewdrop will only aid financially with entrance to an Collaborator’s event if you have been selected to fill a role and have been assigned a schedule. If you are a Member planning to attend the event regardless, and would like to camp along with the Crewdrop Crew, please get in touch! ❤
  2. If I want to see a certain show at the event, can I change my schedule so I can see it?
    1. Crewdrop works with each Member to establish the best possible schedule, and even takes into consideration your interest in a specific Event’s activities and entertainment.
    2. Crewdrop also takes into consideration preferences for “work buddies”, but will ultimately base all decisions and schedules on what is deemed the most effective to accomplish the overall task and goals of the Event.
    3. Crewdrop sends out Draft Schedules no later than 20 days from the day the Event’s gates open. If you are scheduled during a time that seems unreasonable to you, or you are unhappy with who you are scheduled with, you will be able to contest at this draft phase. Requests for adjustments can be made when explanations are provided. We hope to accommodate all our Members, but in cases where we cannot, the Member must choose whether to commit to the schedule or decline.
    4. Members who attend an event as a Crewdrop representative, and who do not sign in for scheduled shifts, and also do not provide reasonable notice or proof of emergency as reason for their absence, will have their membership revoked permanently.
  3. Do I have to pay to get into an Event?
    1. If the Event is an approved Crewdrop Collaborator, and you have been select to fill a position for it, Crewdrop covers all fees for entry related expenses being charged at the Gate, unrelated to vehicles.
  4. Does Crewdrop cover my cost of travel to a Event?
    1. Crewdrop offers ride-share options to events, but cannot aid with individual Members travel related expenses to an event.
    2. If you need to bring your vehicle to the event, there may be specific environmental and/or parking costs associated with that. Crewdrop will send out information in advance so Members can plan ahead, and may alternatively choose to utilize Crewdrop’s Ride-Share options.
    3. If no ride-share options are available, and you are financially unable to attend due to travel costs, Crewdrop may be in a position to cover costs in exchange for additional shift coverages, for example. Crewdrop believes strongly in creating more accessibility to event work wherever possible.
  5. I have a valid license and registered vehicle, can I sign up for Crewdrop’s Ride-Share program to have costs covered?
    1. Yes! If you are approved to participate in Crewdrop’s official ride-share, arrangements can be made to cover related fuel and parking costs.
  6. Where can I get Crewdrop merchandise? I’m a Member, is it free?
    1. Crewdrop merchandise will be released Summer 2017, where you will see a Crewdrop Store added to our website.
    2. Members will receive some free Crewdrop merchandise when they work at their first event, and a 50% discount on all  other Crewdrop brand items.
    3. In some cases Crewdrop will be able to extend discounts to Collaborator’s event merchandise as well, be sure to inquire before making any purchases.

 

Frequently Asked Questions from Collaborators

  1. I’m an Event Organizer in need Volunteers, how can Crewdrop help?
    1. Every event is unique, and has different needs. We encourage all Organizers to CONTACT US and book our free 1/2 hour consultation to discuss your Event’s needs. (ex. what roles, how many people required, list of benefits and amenities provided with crew level access, etc.)
    2. Crewdrop has a database of workers with varying levels of skills, experience, and availability. We also offer services to aid with additional recruitment efforts, if Crewdrop human resources run short of your needs.
    3.  In the case of multi-day events, Crewdrop establishes and provides its Members a comfortable “micro-camp”, where we pool resources and maintain optimal communication. When required and permissible, Crewdrop may also set up a Crew Kitchen to further accommodate the needs of our Crew, and further ensure the quality of our work for you.
    4. By contracting Crewdrop, you are guaranteed all shifts will be fulfilled. We work to together with our Crewdrop Members, factor in contingencies, and work to together to eliminate “no-show” situations.
  2. I have Volunteers, but need help creating documents and paperwork for my Event, can I contract Crewdrop even if I don’t utilize any of you volunteer workers?
    1. Yes! Crewdrop can aid with the development of documentation, such as: Applications, Agreements, Cash-out Sheets, Checklists, Incident Reports, Letterheads, Personnel Reviews, Safety Manuals, Schedules, Sign-Out Sheets, Surveys, Time Sheets, Training Manuals, etc.
    2. Crewdrop also currently provides the following event services:
      • Administration
      • Bookkeeping
      • Consultations
      • Finance Management & Operations
      • Front Gate Management & Operations
      • Human Resource Management & Operations
      • Organizational Structure Development
      • Recruitment (Volunteers/Staff/Contractors)
  3. I’m interested in hiring Crewdrop to run my Front Gate, will you provide wristbands and passes?
    1. Crewdrop does not currently provide any wristbands or other credentials required, nor does it have any related access control software.
    2. Crewdrop helps to ensure the workspace is safe and efficient, provides shelter or other supplies as required, and manages a dedicated Crew (which may or may not also include your own appointed workers, as arranged).
    3. Crewdrop works with Events to establish a level of access control that suits each one’s unique needs. If your event requires a credentialing system (ie. wristbands and passes), Crewdrop can assist with finding appropriate services within your budget, when given sufficient planning time.
